摘要
Benign lesions are the most common lesions encountered on breast imaging. They constitute a large and heterogeneous group with various clinical and imaging findings ranging from developmental abnormalities to epithelial and stromal proliferative lesions, benign neoplasms, and inflammatory conditions. Due to their variety of presentation, they can often be misdiagnosed, hence the importance of profound knowledge and understanding in order to ensure correct diagnosis and obliviate any anxiety related to possible malignancy. The vast majority of these lesions can be safely managed without surgery. In this chapter, imaging findings of benign breast lesions will be explicitly presented with emphasis on radiologic–pathologic correlation and further management. Any potential association with increased risk for breast cancer will subsequently be treated.
