摘要
Lung cancer is one of the leading causes of mortality in both men and women worldwide, as well as in our country, Georgia. According to the data from the population registry of cancer in Georgia (2015-2017) lung cancer was the most prevalent type of cancer among men, 60% of cases were diagnosed at stage IV . The majority of lung cancer cases are associated with smoking. According to the 2016 results of the non-communicable disease risk factors STEPwise approach to surveillance (STEPS), almost one-third of Georgia’s population (31.1%) smokes.
