摘要
The purpose of this study is to report a case of a 20-year-old female patient who presented an increased volume in the right maxilla, painless to palpation, with approximately 2 years of evolution. Clinically, the lesion presented a hard consistency on palpation, sessile, with involvement in the posterior region of the right maxilla. The panoramic image examination showed a predominantly radiopaque lesion involving the maxilla and right maxillary sinus, with displacement of the right upper third molar to the infratemporal fossa. A biopsy was performed and diagnosis of central giant cell injury was made. For better surgical planning and 3D reconstruction, a prototyping was performed with the aid of computer tomography. The treatment was resection of the lesion under general anesthesia. The specimen was sent for histopathologic analysis and the diagnosis was confirmed. The patient continues to be followed up and there was no sign of recurrence of the injury.
