Abstract
Abstract Background: Appropriate breastfeeding training for midwives is necessary to enhance their knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP). However, evidence surrounding the effects of midwife breastfeeding training programmes is insufficient to draw a conclusion. Objective: This systematic review aims to identify, summarise, and critically analyse the available literature to evaluate the effects of midwife breastfeeding training programmes on the midwives' KAP towards breastfeeding and breastfeeding initiation, duration and rates among postnatal mothers. Methods: Nine English and six Chinese databases were searched with relevant key words. The methodological quality of the included studies was assessed by two reviewers independently using the Joanna Briggs Institute critical appraisal checklists.
