摘要
We hypothesize that vestibular migraine is not a separate form of migraine, but rather a consequence of dyspeptic symptoms such as nausea, vomiting for patients who have migraine. The causes of vestibular symptoms could be gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and Helicobacter pylori (H. Pylori). Two mechanisms could be considered – gastric acid may directly irritate the respiratory mucosa and cause inflammation and (or)H. pyloricould be present and cause local infection. In these circumstances the osseous structures are damaged and tinnitus, vertigo and (or) hearing loss eventually develop. Further more extensive investigations are needed in order to explore our hypothesis.
