Genetically encoded chemical crosslinking (GECX) via bioreactive unnatural amino acid (Uaa) enables the capture of weak and transient protein-protein interactions in live cells for identification with mass spectrometry. In article number 2000308, Chao Liu, Shang-Tong Li, Kui Li, Lei Wang, Bing Yang, and co-workers develop a new software OpenUaa to analyze Uaa-crosslinked peptides, which uniquely considers all fragment ions for high sensitivity and identify direct protein interactome with the GECX-OpenUaa strategy.
