This description belies a wonderfully rich and fundamental role the system plays in the control of human physiology and the impact its dysregulation has on disease and medical practice. Investigating the Endocrine system has helped shape our understanding of key aspects of biology. However, the most compelling reason Endocrinology is engaging is the realization hormones shape every aspect of our lives.
