摘要
In Animal Assisted Intervention (AAI), which integrates animals into various contexts and settings of therapeutic, educational, or social work, the well-being of both – humans and animals – is crucial. The following article presents a dog-assisted pilot project, which was carried out in the Dresden correctional facility with long-term incarcerated men with ordered or reserved preventive detention. Building on this, the authors take a critical look at human-animal encounters and approach the possibilities but also the limits of the salvific relevance of animals from a socio-scientific and theological perspective – not without critically bringing up the (ethical) limits of ‘animal use’.
