P312. Frequency Drift Correction in 31P Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy

Phosphorus-31 bearing neurometabolites play an important role in sustaining normal brain activity. To measure in-vivo high energy phosphates, 31P MRS is widely applied. However, magnetic resonance imaging scanners are utilized by multiple research groups. Various clinical protocols are implemented sequentially. Some well-known pulse sequences, such as DTI and fMRI, induce magnetic field drift resulting from heated shimming elements. Frequency drift has been associated with a detrimental effect on 31P MRS spectral quality.
