Abstract
•Solution casting technique was used to study the compatibility between PC and PMMA.•The optical and thermal properties of the PC/PMMA and PMP cladding material were evaluated.•The PC/PMMA blend was compatible at all blending ratio and the optimum blending ratio was found at 80/20.•Both PC/PMMA and PMP cladding materials exhibited an excellent optical and thermal properties.•PMP cladded PCPOF shows a better light transmission and had better performance as compared to 80/20 PC/PMMA cladded PCPOF.
