Particle Detectors

Particles elude our five senses, they are invisible and inaudible, we cannot smell them, taste them, or feel them. Evolution has not equipped us and all other living beings for the perception of particles, because there was no need for this on earth over the past millions of years. Particle detectors complement our missing senses. Most particle detectors are based on the principle of ionization or on the emission of light.
