Directivity test technology and directivity sharpening of fiber-optical vector hydrophone

Fiber-optical vector hydrophone is a new techology of hydrophone.It has the excellences of both the vector hydrophone and the fiber-optical hydrophone.The vector hydrophone has a natural dipole directivity,of which the -3dB beamwidth is 90 degrees,and so it need the directivity sharpening technology to distinguish multi-targets using a single vector hydrophone.This study uses the method based on MVDR for directivity sharpening.The result of one lake trial shows that the method is effective,which the width of the main beam can be suppressed within 20°.
