ChemInform Abstract: PEG—SO3H Catalyzed Synthesis and Cytotoxicity of Α‐aminophosphonates.

AbstractThe one‐pot, three‐component reaction of (pyridinyl)benzaldehyde (I) with primary amines (II) and triethyl phosphite (III) is carried out in the presence of polyethylene glycol sulfonic acid as a recyclable catalyst under mild conditions to provide a new structurally diversified set of α‐aminophosphonates (IV) which is evaluated for their anti‐tumor activity on human leukemia and colon carcinoma cells together with non‐cancerous human embryonic kidney cells.
