Water‐Involved C‐S Bond Formation for the Synthesis of β‐Keto Dithiocarbamates from Thiuram Disulfides

An iodine-mediated synthesis strategy for rapid synthesis of sulfenamides was reported. By using iodine as oxidant, various thiophenols and amines (mainly secondary amines) could quickly and smoothly proceed the CDC reaction, affording the target N−S formation products with good yields. The protocol features metal-free, easy performance, short reaction time, variety of substrates and good yields, showing potential synthetic value for the preparation of a diversity of biologically or pharmaceutically active compounds.
