摘要
Over the years’ policymakers have made a conscious effort in achieving economic progress through digitization. These are evident in the recent introduction of electronic services within most sectors in the Government to render services to citizens. But the sustainability of such e-government services depends largely on citizens’ participation and reliable ICT infrastructure. In Ghana, the use of e-government services records low-level patronage from citizens. This study aimed at exploring the main factors to the low patronage of e-government service from citizens. The study adopted a qualitative research approach where selected citizens were selected and interviewed, and the qualitative data was analyzed using inductive thematic analysis. The main findings of the study showed themes such as Lack of Awareness, Lack of Publicity, Internet Access, Economic Factors, and Lack of Trust as some of the main barriers to citizens' adoption and use of e-government service. The research recommendations and future studies were also discussed.
