Abstract
In the present work, finite element analysis (FEA) is applied to study the behaviour of magnesium alloy AZ41 after necking using extrapolation method. Suitability of Hollomon, Swift, Ludwik, Ghosh, Voce and Hockett-Sherby models is examined for the above estimation. Material constants of these models are determined using regression analysis. It is found that the results predicted by these models in before and after necking are different. The Swift curve is anticipated very well in whole regions of the deforming alloy.
