Essential mechanical properties of work roll for effective rolling using 20 Hi-cold rolling mill

There are various types of rolls are being used in Cold Rolling Mills according to their usability. They are varying in size shape and materials. The selection of material is dependent upon factors such as hardness, machinability, mechanical properties and strength. The chemical composition and manufacturing style of roll effects a lot in their working efficiency. In this work the mechanical properties which are essential for a work roll to be used in rolling mill for effective and quality rolling is being studied which also helps to find out the correct and optimum selection of material for selection of work roll of 20 Hi Cold Rolling mills. This imperative study will be helpful for rolling mill engineers and operators for selection of measure operating parameters for adequate rolling which must have higher efficiency and life of work roll. The work also includes the study the current material used for manufacturing work roll for rolling mills.
