Abstract
The educational process in higher educational establishments of Ukraine is oriented towards the formation of a creative educated person, capable of constant updating of knowledge and adaptation to socio-cultural changes and conditions of the labor market. In order to quickly adapt students to the organization of the educational process and new forms of study in higher education establishments and to provide conditions for successful study of the first-year-study students in different specialties, additional classes in physics were offered, which were held before the beginning of the first semester. The assessments in physics of prospective students of Lviv Polytechnic at the external independent evaluation (EIE), the average school score in physics and the results of their semester examination for the first year of study as a students were analyzed. A comparative analysis of this assessments revealed a poor preparation of students in physics for study in the institutions of technical profile. Studies have shown the feasibility of additional classes in physics. The repetition and systematization of knowledge in physics contributed to a better understanding and assimilation of the content of the curriculum in physics, adaptation of students to the educational process in higher educational establishments.Keywords: educational process, forms of learning, adaptation, additional lessons, input and output control.
