Social Science Research Network(2019)
Abstract
The main intention of this study was to identify factors influencing Members participation in Agricultural Cooperatives in selected Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperatives in Dandi Woreda, Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia. For this study four Agricultural cooperatives were selected from the 17 similar cooperatives based on longevity of life span, mainly those formed beyond 8 years. Primary data were collected from 122 sample respondents selected by using simple random sampling. Secondary data were also used. Binary logistic regression and paired t-tests were used to analyze categorical and numerical data respectively. The logistic regression result shows that age, awareness level, access to credit, attitude and promoters support, training and education found statistically significant factors affecting members participation in cooperatives. The authors recommends that member education training and awareness have to be given in a continuous manner.
