摘要
Information is lacking on micro-mineral status of feed and fodders offered to livestock in Kashmir valley. A study was conducted in district Ganderbal and Bandipora to evaluate soil-plant/feed continuum for important trace minerals. Total soil Cu, Zn, Fe and Co concentrations were adequate. Cu concentration in Paddy straw, MP chari, Willow leaves and feeds analyzed was below the critical levels. Zn concentration in all the samples was below the critical level. All the samples studied were adequate (concentrations above critical levels) in Fe and Co. The study indicated estimation of extractable/available fraction of soil micro-minerals, and Cu and Zn supplementation to grazing livestock in the study area for optimum productivity.
