Development Platform of Water System Operation: an Introduction

: Efficient management of water resources in the basin is one of the important tasks for the river basin management organization. Water resource operation, which is mainly used to balance the water resources of the basin between different water users, is an important link to realize the efficient management of water resources. In order to support the water resources operation of China's rivers, a development platform of water system operation (DPWSO) has been propsed. This paper mainly introduces the business function and software framework of this software. The software contains two business functions, regular operation and emergency operation. In order to realize these two major business functions, the software provides four supporting functions including database, model building tool, model computing service and application platform. The software has been successfully applied to many river basins in China. The developed software will be released to the Internet in future plans, providing a set of tools for water issues in various river basins around the world.
