Efficacy of high flow nasal cannula as an alternative to continuous positive airway pressure therapy in surgical patients with suspected moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea

•Main reason for poor compliance of CPAP therapy amongst OSA patients is discomfort.•High flow nasal cannula is an alternative to CPAP for surgical patients with OSA.•High flow nasal cannula is effective in the perioperative management of OSA.•High flow nasal cannula is better tolerated than CPAP mask for OSA patients.
