A Copper-Based Polycarbonyl Coordination Polymer As a Cathode for Li Ion Batteries
Crystal growth & design(2021)
摘要
It is of great significance for the sustainable development of society to search for novel coordination polymer-based electrode materials of lithium ion batteries. Herein, a two-dimensional coordination polymer, ([Cu(4-DTBPT)(2)(DMF)(2)](C10H4O8) (Cu-CP) (DTBPT = 2,7-di(4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl) benzo[lmn][3,8]phenanthroline-1,3,6,8(2H,7H)-tetraone; DMF = dimethylformamide), was synthesized and first used as a cathode material of lithium ion batteries. The Cu-CP electrode displayed a better cycling stability and the specific capacity of 40.3 mA h g(-1) at 50 mA g(-1) after 50 cycles along with a Coulombic efficiency of 96.7%. The electrochemical study for the Cu-CP electrode reveals that both Cu(II) ions and 4-DTBPT ligands may be involved in the electrochemical reaction during charge and discharge. Our work demonstrates again that it is a feasible way to utilize the interaction of metal ions and organic ligands with redox activity for constructing coordination polymers acting as the cathode materials for lithium ion batteries.
