摘要
Because of the significance of the antioxidant role of the natural compound vitamin E and its water-soluble analogue Trolox, 17 Trolox derivatives were designed and performed their antioxidant activity via DPPH free radical scavenging and Hydrogen peroxide scavenging assays. The docking studies were carried out and the results revealed that all compounds displayed better docking score than Trolox. The compounds having hydroxyl substituent at benzopyran ring showed the more potent antioxidant property. The compounds having a bromo group at isatin ring showed less potency. However, eleven compounds (6a, 6b, 6c, 6e, 6f, 6g, 6h, 6j, 6k, 6l, and 6m) were found to reduce DPPH more than the standard drug, Trolox (74% inhibition), which suggests such compounds warrant further study.
