Radiation Hardness Studies Of Components Of The Atlas Forward And Hadronic End Cap Calorimeters At Dubna
PROCEEDINGS OF THE EIGHTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CALORIMETRY IN HIGH ENERGY PHYSICS(2000)
摘要
Samples of materials and equipment to be used in the ATLAS Forward Calorimeter (FCAL) and the Hadronic End Cap (HEC) calorimeter were immersed in a liquid argon cryostat and exposed to high neutron fluences during several campaigns of measurements at the cold test facility operated at the IBR-2 reactor of JINR, Dubna. The typical fluence achieved during each campaign was about 10(16) n/cm(2), equivalent to the fluence encountered during 10 years of LHC operation. An alpha -cell was used to check for possible outgassing under irradiation of samples immersed in liquid argon and to monitor the liquid argon purity. The results of measurements of Liquid argon pollution obtained during these campaigns are presented.
