Computer-Based Optimizing System For Bulk Cargo Stowage Plan

Loading Problem, a kind of C&P problem, is a multi-constraint and multi-objective combinational optimization problem. This paper is focused on the building of a new mathematical 0-1 model for multi-sized products loading problem and construction of a hybrid genetic algorithm to find a good solution as well as the design, development and implementation of a computer-based system for solving real-world problem. The system has successfully improved the rented ship's loading efficiency of a Chinese steel plant. The proposed solution to the problems in iron & steel product loading will serve as references in handling the other problems in loading area.
