Synthesis and protective properties of Ni-W alloy strengthened by incorporation of diamond particles
Journal of Alloys and Compounds(2021)
摘要
Ni-W alloy strengthened by incorporation of diamond particles were investigated. Microstructure and protective properties of the composites were examined. XRD, SEM, EDS, AFM and XPS methods have been employed to characterize the obtained composite coating. Growing mechanisms for the composites and their dispersion strengthening by diamond particles are proposed. The metallic matrix exhibits a solid solution of W in Ni lattice exhibiting fcc structure. It exhibits nodular-like morphologies with uniform and compact structures. The granule sizes increased as current density increased. The coating contains 63.5-66.5 wt% Ni and 23.1-24.7 wt% W. Diamond content of the composites grows from 6.38 to 8.97 wt% as i increases. The preferred orientation of W/Ni matrix was (111), with grain sizes from 14 to 16 nm. The R-a prepared with 2 g L(-1)diamond is 63 nm, which is finer than 76 nm of 5 g L-1. The finer and smoother coating deposited with 2 g L-1 diamond exhibits a better corrosion resistance. Particle concentration and electro-deposition parameters were explored for the optimal protective properties of the composite coatings. (C) 2021 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
