摘要
When titanium dioxide (TiO2) particles are irradiated with ultrasound, the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) is enhanced. The application of this phenomenon to infection prevention and cancer treatment has been extensively studied. However, to date, it has not been adequately verified whether the use of TiO2 particles induce the optimal production of ROS. In this study, we compared the enhancement of dihydroxybenzoic acid (DHBA) production as a quantification of ROS production when TiO2 and other particles were irradiated with ultrasound. The results suggested that the production of DHBA was enhanced with the use of TiO2 particles as compared with the use of other particles. (c) 2021 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
