Background and Aims: Introduction: Adipose tissue adipokine omentin-1 is considered as potential biomarker of obesity-related cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. Peroxisome proliferator activated receptor PPARγ provides transcriptional control of adipogenesis and adipokine secretion. Aim of the study was to investigate omentin-1 and PPARG genes expression in adipose tissue from patients with obesity, metabolic syndrome (MS) and coronary artery disease (CAD).
