摘要
The effect of new quinolones on 470 nm light emitting diode (blue LED) light induced lipid peroxidation, and the preventive effects of antioxidants were investigated. Lipid peroxides were measured as thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS). TBARS in porcine retinal homogenates were increased by blue LED light exposure with I mM enoxacin (280%), levofloxacin (325%), or ofloxacin (333%). Blue LED light induced-lipid peroxidation with I mM levofloxacin was suppressed by vitamin E, or a newly synthesized dihydrobenzofuran derivatives. The simple model system described here can be employed in the study of new generation therapeutic agents to determine their protective effects from light damage of the retina.
