摘要

A new synthesis of 1-(omega-haloalkyl)-imidazole has been developed. The synthesis involves a Hoffmann-type elimination of the 2-cyanoethyl group from imidazolium salts obtained by the reaction of alpha,omega-dihalide with 1-(2-cyanoethyl)-imidazole.
