Operative Treatment Of Cervical Cancer

Gynecological surgeons follow different strategies in the surgical treatment of cervical cancer even today; however, therapy can be broken down into different steps which can then be variably combined to complete the different surgical concepts. This article describes the different stages and discusses the various combinations with respect to recent advantages that have been achieved by video laparoscopy and the concept of total mesometrial resection. The aim of this article is to make each step of the surgical approach comprehensible and more importantly to understand the strategy that has been chosen depending on the surgeon's capability, the institutional abilities and patient wishes.
