Abstract
(Anesth Analg. 2022;134:633–643) Many consider spinal anesthesia (SA) the foremost method for cesarean delivery, but previous studies show this can lead to hypotension. A previous research team determined the effectiveness of the noninvasive hypotension prediction index (HPI) algorithm, an algorithm using high-fidelity arterial pressure waveform recordings and 22 additional features to measure the likelihood of a hypotensive event on a scale from 1 to 100, in predicting hypotension. This study assessed the ability of the HPI algorithm and the ClearSight system in comparison with noninvasive blood pressure monitoring (NIBP) during SA procedures.
