Association Between Glutathione Levels in the Anterior Cingulate Cortex and Distress Intolerance in Marijuana-Using Adolescents
Biological psychiatry(2021)
摘要
Marijuana (MJ) use, mental, and physiological stressors increase oxidative stress in the brain. Additionally, psychological symptoms including distress intolerance are risk factors for MJ use. Glutathione (GSH), the most abundant antioxidant in the brain, protects against oxidative stress. However, the relationship between MJ use, brain GSH levels and distress intolerance remains unknown. Therefore, in this study, we examined levels of GSH in the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) and its relationship with distress intolerance in adolescent MJ users and healthy controls.
