Abstract
Recent studies estimate the prevalence of erectile dysfunction (ED) among young men to be as high as 30%. Mental health disorders (MHD), specifically depression and anxiety, have been identified as risk factors for incidence and severity of ED in young men. In fact, the association between MHD and ED is a self-perpetuating cycle characterized by decreased self-image, and increased psychological distress, hypercortisolemia and sexual failure.
