Non-Interpenetrated Metal-Chalcogenide Cluster-Based Frameworks Assembled by Small-Sized Penta-Supertetrahedral Clusters

Reported here are two new non-interpenetrated metal-chalcogenide cluster-based frameworks (MCCF-20 and MCCF-21) built from a typical small-sized penta-supertetrahedral P1-ZnSnS cluster. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction measurement demonstrates that 4-connected P1 clusters are assembled into 3D frameworks with chiral quartz (MCCF-20) and diamond (MCCF-21) topologies, respectively. In addition, both compounds exhibit good activity in the full spectra light-driven photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue dye molecules.
