The invention discloses a random interpolation method for cipher text image information hiding, which is characterized by comprising the following steps: (1) initializing an interpolation image and apseudo random generator; (2) calculating the pixels in the odd rows and in the odd columns; (3) calculating the pixels in the odd rows and in the even columns except the last column; (4) calculating the pixels in the even rows and in the odd columns except the last row; (5) calculating the pixels in the even rows and in the even columns except J (2M-1, 2N-1); (6) calculating the pixels in the lastcolumn; and (7) calculating the pixels in the last row. An interpolation image generated by the method is controlled by a key. Different interpolation images will be obtained based on different inputkeys. The histograms of all interpolation images are approximately in uniform distribution. The shortcomings of common image interpolation methods are overcome. The random interpolation method has high security.
