The role of epigenetic modifications in the modulation of T2-type immune responses in the development of asthma and allergy

Factors of the external environment, such as stress, air pollution, diet, exercise or infections cause epigenetic changes in the cells of the human body, including the cells of the immune system. Epigenetic modifications may partly explain the relationship between the increase in the incidence of asthma and allergies observed over the past few decades, and the effects of environmental factors on the human body throughout their lives - starting from the fetal period, including pollution and allergens, diet and microbes. The aim of this study is to analyze the importance of epigenetic modifications in the modulation of T2-type immune responses in the development of asthma and allergies.
