Synthesis, thermal, dielectric and hardness studies on thiosemicarbazide 5-sulfosalicylate (t5ss)

Pure Thiosemicarbazide 5-Sulfosalicylate crystals (T5SS) have been grown by slow evaporation technique. The various functional groups present in the crystal are confirmed by FT-IR spectral analysis. The Vickers microhardness test clearly shows that the grown crystal belongs to soft material category and obeys the reverse indentation size effect for the applied loads. Dielectric study shows that dielectric constant decreases with increase in frequency for the grown crystal. Thermogravimetric analysis reveals the thermal stability of the materials.
