The optimum technique study of directional well whole orbit

The choice of directional well hole orbit is important to safety, efficiency and reducing costs in drilling operations. Based on the analysis of actual force in directional well hole, a corresponding mathematics model is built, through which the calculating process is analyzed for the normal well path types of the directional wells and the application cases are given. Both the theoretical and field applications show that the directional well path derived from this optimum method has the following characteristics: minimal depth, smooth trajectory and small frictional drag. Therefore, the Optimum well bore orbit can be extensively applied in the directional drilling for increasing penetration rate and reducing drilling cost.
