Study on DNA Binding Interaction with Schiff Bases of Nitroanilines

摘要
The binding properties of calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) with four Schiff bases derived from p-nitroaniline and vanillin (1), p-nitroaniline and salicylaldehyde (2), m-nitroaniline and vanillin (3), and m-nitroaniline and salicylaldehyde (4) have been studied by spectroscopic methods. Results indicated that they can bind to CT-DNA in groove binding mode, and binding ability is in order of Schiff base 3 > 2 > 1 > 4. [GRAPHICS]
