RESISTANCE HEATING OF LABORATORY SCALE PREBAKE ANODES
Light Metals(2009)
摘要
Prebaked anode samples have been resistance heated in a laboratory study. The samples were heated by passing electric current through the anodes in a cold nitrogen atmosphere. No external heating was applied. Temperature measurements were done using an infrared camera to examine differences in the temperature distribution across the sample surface during the heating. The temperature was also measured in the anode using a single thermocouple. The samples were also electrically heated in an air atmosphere using the same set-up to observe the oxidation of the anode surface. Microscopy investigations were done after cooling to look for selective reactivity on the anode surface.
