Volatile Organic-Compounds - Ozone Formation, Alternative Fuels and Toxics

The explosion of research in atmospheric chemistry over the past few decades has established the central role of reactive volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in a variety of tropospheric phenomena. This article provides a brief overview of several of the roles played by VOCs in polluted ambient atmospheres which are currently of considerable scientific, as well as technological and environmental/economic, interest.
