The invention relates to the field of clothes cleaning, and particularly relates to a cleaning and dirt separation system using traveling wave type ultrasonic waves generated by piezoelectric ceramics. The system comprises a washing barrel, an ultrasonic transducer and an electronic control system, the ultrasonic transducer is arranged on the outer wall of the washing barrel, the ultrasonic transducer comprises an A-phase piezoelectric ceramic piece and a B-phase piezoelectric ceramic piece, the A-phase piezoelectric ceramic piece and the B-phase piezoelectric ceramic piece are arranged on thesame height of the wall of the washing barrel, and the electronic control system is suitable for providing high-frequency excitation voltage with phase difference of Pi/2 for the A-phase piezoelectric ceramic piece and the B-phase piezoelectric ceramic piece. The system can generate good cleaning effects, abrasion of clothes can be effectively reduced in the cleaning process, and the system is applicable to cleaning of various clothes.
