摘要
In 2006 ChemCentre was awarded a grant by the Western Australian Government for a project "Encouraging the Golf Industry" to take strategic waste initiatives. It was aimed at encouraging the golf industry in Western Australia to become better managers of waste and resources. The research, conducted by the ChemCentre over two years investigated the use of both organic and inorganic waste materials as soil amendments for turf grown on sandy soils of the Swan Coastal Plain in the southwest of Western Australia. The intent of the project was to demonstrate what applies to the golf industry often can be embraced by the general turf industry, outdoor sporting and recreational areas, right through to the common householder's backyard lawn.
