The experimental diagnostics of hot electrons from hohlraum targets irradiated by 1 omega(0) light at "Shenguang II"

This paper presents the first experimental observation of hot electrons produced by the 1.053mum high-power laser with hohlraum targets. This experiment was performed at the Shengguang II facility. The multi-channel filter-fluorescence spectrometer was used to measure the hard x-ray spectra with energies ranging from 1.5-250keV emitting from hohlraum targets. The energy of hot electrons is 13 % -16 % of the energy of incidence laser and the temperature T-h is 35-45 keV, which was detected by the flux of high energy spectra and its slope separately. And the generation mechanism of hot electrons from hohlraum targets is inferred from the correlation between the hot electron energy E-he and the Stimulated Raman Scattered (SRS) light energy E-srs. The characteristics of hot electrons produced under the conditions with different laser energy E-L are given for various types of hohlraum targets.
