New Distributional Records of the Mediterranean Horseshoe Bat Rhinolophus euryale Blasius, 1853 (Chiroptera: Rhinolophidae) in Iran

We present a review of earlier records of the Mediterranean horseshoe bat Rhinolophus euryale Blasius, 1853 in Iran together with new distributional data obtained during a recent period (2014-2017). Until 2012, Rhinolophus euryale had been recorded from 18 localities in Iran. The present study describes 11 further localities, thus increasing the known geographical range of this species mainly over Zagros and Elburz Ranges at elevations between 900-2500 m above sea level.
