Alignment of the Inner Detector using misaligned CSC data

An important milestone within the Computing System Challen g (CSC) was the production of a set of alignment constants for the Inner Detector using a data sa mple generated with the CSC misaligned geometry. For this the Pixel detector together with the Semi conductor Tracker were first aligned internally using a method based on the minimization of hit residua ls. The TRT was then aligned with respect to the Pixel and the SCT using a similar approach. A collectio n of observables, some using Monte Carlo truth information, were used to validate the results. The se t of constants obtained was used for the results presented in the ATLAS detector paper.
