摘要
If Computation Intelligence has been and remains truly forceful part of research efforts since the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the middle of the last century, the fact that human-like intelligent machine is still beyond the reach of contemporary science only proves how difficult the problem is. An intelligent machine cannot rely only on a stored up prior knowledge but has to be able to perceive, to interpreted, to learn from and to interact with the environment in which it evolves. In other words, to become intelligent it has to be aware about its surrounding environment. That is why the young science of awareness and the ever increasing need of related technologies development take up foremost importance in challenging efforts toward intelligent machines’ edifice. Since its first edition in 2009, the international Conference on Awareness Science and technology (iCAST) takes part in appealing intellectual dynamics created around this young science offering a privileged space to refit and exchange the knowledge about further theoretical advances, new experimental discoveries and novel technological improvements in this promising area.
