Assessing the Impact of Smart Inverter's Functions on Power Quality in Rooftop PV Applications

摘要
With daily increasing of installed solar photovoltaic (PV) in the distribution system, capability of smart inverter to improve the power quality should be studied. Comprehensive studies are typically needed to ascertain which settings across a wide range of potential conditions for the smart inverter of PVs are most appropriate for different weather conditions and under various level of the load. In this study, quasi-steady-state simulation (QSTS) is performed in terms of assessing power quality issues such as distribution system loss and voltage profile. This paper evaluates various volt/var setting that has been found to provide beneficial response based on detailed analysis.
